luger toggle pin

I have a S/42 1936 L block every number matches with exception to the rear toggle pin. However the number links to the number under the serial number on the bottom of the barrel. The number 82 is stamped on the toggle pin, is this correct or a unfortunate fluke?

The number under the serial number on the barrel is the bore diameter in millimeters. Does it happen to be 8,82 ?

Yes that's why I thought it was posibly or hopeful it was correct

If I remember correctly, 8,81 through 8,85 was within the acceptable tolerance for bore diameter. Yours just happened to be 8,82 and the toggle pin 82.

Is this starting to make sence? I don't know anything about how Mauser marked rear toggle pins. I have seen in pictures the pin with the last two digits on older lugers but I have a 1936. Thanks for the input & please keep it coming.

Hi,

Your 1936 Mauser Luger should have a rear axle pin with the last two digits of the gun's serial number stamped on the end with the flange if it's a military gun. Commercial guns would have a Mauser "Banner" logo on the forward toggle. Military guns in 1936 had a "S/42" code on the forward toggle.
