1941 German Luger
My brother's father-in-law took a 1941 (byf manufactured) Luger from a German Officer (POW) sometime in 1944 or 1945. He does not remeber exactly when or from whom. My brother gave it to me to clean and test fire as it had not been fired since it was taken from the German. It is in great shape and has recently been cleaned and test fired.
Does anybody know any way of finding out which German Office was issued this weapon? I have all the serial numbers and holster, etc. Is therre web information anywhere that might have this information?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated...

My mistake if Jan Still's forum has the records, but I posted there for a while and never saw them.

The only rekord would be if the guy who got the pistol also got the Soldbuch from the German he got it from. That would have listed the pistol by ser nr and of course the individuals name and other info was there too.
There has never been this sort of info available for anyone from any army in the world, except possibly duirring the war. Post war any such rekords would have been destroyed because there was no reason to keep it.

I take it that there are no unit markings on the Luger?
