This is an early stock that was modified & then went through rebuild. Any suggestions about when it was made are welcome. Sorry - I can't post photos. Thanks!

Length from tip to lower band shoulder = 11 1/8" (suggests made for 1905 sight & 1903 ctg)
Tip not cut & filled; screw hole not plugged & no S on tip. (Not a RB stock)
Low wood on right side (post Oct 1910 or wood lowered during rebuild)
Two stock bolts. Identical so they probably were installed together
Cut for spare parts container. (Post 1910)
Two inspectors marks: Block letters AA above a W, abt .15" high (Brophy lists an AAW as 1905-1906), and a boxed A.A.J. (1918-1920)
Single proof mark, a script circled P
Other marks: just forward of proof mark: 77 , abt .1" high
Cut off recess: S
On bottom of inletting for receiver tang, a block B (or possible an 8)
Rt side of butt: 42-14 with the 42- characters abt .65" high & the 14 abt.25" high.
Under lower swivel 257 abt .4" high.
