Housings and bolts on 4.2 million SA Post War garands
Asked this on other sites but thought i woud ask here as well. I am trying to get some clarity on "correct" parts on a 4.2 million 1953 SA Garand. A few sources (namely Poyer and Babcock) state that these early post war SA M1
's had "no dash" trigger housings, ie housings stamped 6528290 SA rather than the more common 6528290-SA. Is it generally agreed that the -SA housing came later, around 5.5 million? Second, Babcock claims that several 4.2 million M1's had late -19 bolts rather than 65 bolts. Is this correct? Help appreciated.
