Ross Mk II*** Bolt Stop
My rifle had a broken bolt stop when I bought it but I am having a local machine shop make on from the dimensions I was able to get off the fragment that remained with the rifle. Do Ross technical drawings still exist? I made the measurements intentionally oversize on the print I drew up for the shop so that it can be hand fitted to my rifle but I thought it would be nice to be able to have a few of them made up to original specifications in case anyone else needed one. They do seem like they would be easily lost if the action is removed from the stock and I've yet to find one for sale. My brother can probably write a program for CNC if I had the technical drawing to work from.
Thanks.

I have some loose I could measure up, as do other members here I'm sure. Was yours the split or solid bolt stop?
You are correct that they are easily dropped when the stock is removed, although usually gummed up enough with old dirt and oil not to!

Solid type. One of the kind fellows on here volunteered to send me a replacement bolt stop for which I am very grateful. Beautifully made part, more elegant than in any other military rifle I've known. The proper bolt stop has made for a much more pleasant shooting experience than before, though I haven't done very much due to the local unavailability of more .303. Will have to post pictures once I get a little farther along in returning this sporterized rifle to military dress.
Thanks.
