    03 Bolt Stop

What was the purpose of the Bolt Stop in 03's? I know it was later eliminated.

Its purpose was to prevent the bolt from going forward from gravity while the rifle was being handled, such as during an inspection, or when loading a single round with the barrel pointed downward. The tip of the bolt stop entered an indent in the left locking lug.
