Walther Model 4, 4th variation
Found this little Walther today at the gun show. $100 later and its mine. As you can see, its a bit cosmetically challenged, but is tight as a drum and shoots flawlessly.
According to what little I could find info wise on it, it is a 4th variation, made around 1928 or '29, and was the last go around for this model before the PP was introduced. It is marked 'MADE IN GERMANY' on the left of the triggerguard, so I am assuming it spent the majority of its life here in the states. I did run across a few threads, however, that stated that a large number of these actually never made it out of Germany..I guess it is possible that some were held back. Either way, it is very comfortable in the hand, and points very well. That's Walther for ya!

late second variant Walter Model 4
I have had this late second variant Walter Model 4 for many years. The serial number is 113001 which I believe falls into the second variant group. I use to think it was different with the left side ejection but the P-38 is the same tooAttachment 90338Attachment 90339

I picked this example up late last year, notice Anchor mark on the trigger guard, it was due to be deactivated but for now its still live.
