looking for information on a Model 1907 sling variation

An old friend sent me a photo of a web Model 1907 type sling with metal eyelets for the sling hooks - just like the leather only web and eyelets
    ...

Could be WW2 for rifles and BAR

Any information would be appreciated, Robert

Is this it? That one's apparently for the BAR but experimental.

Jim, That looks like the sling in the photo that was received from my friend. The three set of hooks are used on the BAR sling during WW2. The web BAR sling continued on after the BAR was gone with the M14A1 rifle during the Viet Nam period.

All that seems to be known is it's an experimental for the BAR and I'd suggest unsuccessful. It doesn't appear it's valuable. Hayes Otoupalik had one for $20 US...

Thanks again for the information, the late Skip Stratton use to tell me that a guy should take about $5000 and go spend the day with Hayes Otoupalik. You would come back with some neat/rare items

I always love to cruise his site. I've been through Missoula a few times, should have stopped and done that very thing.
