6.5 Carcano Reloading ---> Hornady .267 Expander Ball Question
I want to start reloading 6.5 Carcano using the Hornady .267 bullet.
I only have an older RCBS 6.5 die set that has a .264 expander ball.
I would like to know if the Hornady expander ball will fit on the RCBS Spindle.
The thread is a standard 10-32. (See attached photo)
I do not necessarily care about the de-capping pin being different.
I would appreciate it if someone with a Hornady die set could check this out for me.
Perhaps even supply the other thread sizes to compare with the RCBS spindle.

Why not get the next size over that and turn it down? Far easier than this affair... No Lathe? Just chuck the whole thing up in a drill press and use a file.

Yes of course I've considered that option.
If I wanted to go that route (and I might have to) I will do just that.
The Hornady expander ball is shaped differently (bell shape) and looks like
it would be easier on the brass. Especially since the RCBS dies will be taking
the neck ID down to .264 bullet diameter. And... I'll have to open the mouth
back up to accommodate the larger diameter bullet.
Either way I would have to order a new expander ball and it the Hornady ball does
fit that would be the ideal way to go since it is made just for that bullet.
