Looking for WW2 38/200 ammo for collection.
Hi All,
Have recently acquired a 1940 Enfield No2 mk1 revolver and also a colt police official (Aust Army marked WW2 issue) and am looking for a couple of packets of WW2 38/200 ammo to put on display with the revolvers. Anyone got any leads to who might still have some for sale at a reasonable price? Also looking for and CES for the 2 as well (armourers tools etc).
Many Thanks!

The .38/200 cartridge was no longer made or issued in WWII. A lighter FMJ cartridge was in service from the 1930s on.

Snook, mate there used to be a gun shop in Bexley on the road to Bexley North, I can't remember the name at the moment - began with a J I think, but it had all sorts of collectables seemingly from the year dot on. I don't know if it's still there, but that would be the first place in the Sydney Metropolitan area that I would try.

Well guys just to keep you all updated , i have contacted several dealers here in OZ (Jansa etc) and they have none available. They all suggested I have a look at the gun fairs/shows here in oz which I will do. Also contacted a couple of dealers in the UK
who have packets in stock but they are unable or unwilling to send to Australia
.
Oh well....will keep on trying....the thrill of the chase an all that!

I have a small stash of FN 178 grain ball ammo that I found at California gun shows in years past. It appears to be post WW2 vintage at shoots to point of aim, unlike any 148 grain .38 S&W I have ever tried...
