I won two military trainers at an on-line auction today, including this Enfield

Description advised:
British Model Sht.22IB* Bolt Action Rifle, #F2712, .22 cal., 25'' barrel, blue finish, walnut stock. WWI era SMLE converted to .22 cal. as imported in the early 1980s. Condition is very good to near fine retaining approx. 85% arsenal blue. Stock shows light scuffs and bruises. Magazine internals are missing as this has been converted to single shot. Action is crisp, bore is bright.

Sweet....I've got a 1915 BSA as well that looks like it hasen't fired a shot since it was converted.

A fine example of this wonderful rifle I have four in my collection and love them all, as for information there is a small soft cover book called "British icon

.22RF Training Rifles" by Dennis Lewis & Robert Washburn (ISBN 1-880677-03-2) that will probably answer many of your questions.

The Enfield and MAS trainers finally arrived today and I snapped a few pics at my FFL's before they went into his safe for the obligatory 10 day "cooling off " period.

They are both in great shape. The Enfield bore is sharp and shiny.
