A very good rifle. Any chance of some pix of the markings.
This guy in England used to do repro tools but the web site isn't currently working. Hopefully it is only a w/e glitch and it will be be back up soon.

Wow, nice work, and what great wood you've got, thats a rifle I'd like to own one day, very well done. we must get a few target pics ...
Re scope tool Brian Dick first, and then ebay, there's a very clean one right now with one day left for mk1 and mk2 scope-not mk 3, see below, plus they come up regularly.

Hi RJW,
Thanks for the kind words. I will post some target pics after I've sorted out the adjustment.
(Congrats on winning the cricket match - what a shocker for South Africa!)

For a Mk1 or 2 telescope, don't even bother wasting your money with the 'correct' tool (which one is correct.....) They were all a complete waste of rations. Just leave the lead screw locking nut (the outer nut with forked recesses) nipped up so that the inner lead screw (the reverse headed one) can be turned with a little bit of friction. Now you can simply zero using a suitably sized allen key with a slot cut across the end on the brass lead screw. Then zero it like that......, carefully, carefully a bit at a time and it'll stay put for ever.
Only buy the 'tool' if you want it to look good and to impress your friends in the telescope box - but NEVER use it. And NEVER lock up the lead screw locking nut up over finger tight and NEVER be tempted to use a pair of pliers either.

Hi Peter,
Thank you very much for the advice. If I understand you correctly the outer nut should not be loose but completely tight when turning the lead screw?

Peter I know that you are the expert on this stuff but I have not only managed to work out a technique for using the tool, I have documented it.
It is the subject that I was going to call you about last year. I will make that call RSN (Real Soon Now) because I believe that I have made a break through and I'd like to run it past you.
