    Well Done, Canadians

Last year I acquired a No. 4 Mk1*1, 1944 Longbranch. I had a few rounds kicking around and punched some paper with it & put it away. I kept an eye out for some 303 at the local gun show but either didn't find any or what I did see was suspect. Also, I didn't want to buy it at a gun store at full retail. I learned that milsurp 303 is long gone and it seems that half the 303 shooters don't like Pakistani ammo & some do. I decided to pass on that as well.

Well, I scored a box of Norma factory loads at the last gun show for $10 along with some once fired & some virgin brass. Yesterday I went to the range to try it out. Five shots at twenty five yards grouped nicely so I tried five more at 100 yards, still nice grouping. I decided to try the "gong" at 200 yards (8 inch round lead plate, makes a nice thwacking noise) and fired two rounds. Hit the gong twice! My friend fired two and hit it once having never even touched the rifle before. I'm impressed with the rifle and workmanship. I'll have to pick up some dies to reload. The end flaps on the Norma box were gone so I don't know how many grains the bullets were let alone what type of powder. I saved some rounds so I can pull a bullet and weigh it. I don't have a picture of the rifle by itself but I'll post a picture with its mates from the safe. It's the fourth one from the top (with the spike bayonet).

    Good job Canadianicon brothers!
