I had an email from another forumer last Thursday night telling me that there was an auction the next day and one of the lots was a "Hart"; this is a converted No 4 to 7·62mm with a one piece stock.
He knew along with a "Whittaker" that I wanted a good example of a Geoff Hart converted No 4, and here was one waiting for a good home.
Well I hadn't seen it nor had my mate so I took a punt and and decided what I thought it might go for, the good news came when the auctioneers phoned me back the next day and said I had won it.
I got it for £100 + 12% commission + £112, a steal if I say so myself.
The good news is that the bore is mint, in fact you can see by the photos all the crud still on there, I doubt if it has left it's gun locker in fifteen years judging by the amount of cobwebs in the foresight tunnel.
The bad news?
It was at one time a 4T!Information
