Common, or Uncommon, Marking?

I have a CMP "white bag" carbine with what appears to be an ordinance wheel marking on the left side of the rear sight. I've had a few M1 carbines over the years and don't recall having seen this marking before.

Is it common or unusual?

Springfield Armory.

Yup SA. Springfield made spare parts after WWII. The ord. stamp is normal on these sights.
