Giraud case trimmers

Are there any down sides to the Giraud case trimmers? I have a RCBS trim pro but I am tired of the cases comming out of the shell holder when I turn the crack!!! I also hate that caliber specific collet when they scratch the inside on the neck (I'm sure that helps accuracy). I will be loading for .223 & 30.06 so it looks like I will need to invest about $465 the the case trimmer and the extra case holder and cutting head with blade.

Do these cut really nice? Or is it al lot of money just to save time with a rougher trim than using a manual trimmer? thank you.

Holding the cases in your finger tips is hard on finger tips.

There are other trimmers that may be .002" more accurate.

They do very nicely, and caliber conversions go nicely. I trim in .223, .30-'06, .308, 7.5 Swiss and .303.

Mine arrived about 2 months ago w/ add'l cutters/holders I ordered for use w/ 4 different calibers/6 different cases (.223, .243, .30, .375).

It's a Godsend in terms of speed/ease and quite exact/smooth in operation.

If you are interested in rock solid performance and the highest possible precision, then the Wilson trimmer is the one to buy. It also happens to be one of the least expensive. The only down side to the Wilson is it is relatively slow, about like your current trimmer.

The Giraud is fast and more than accurate enough for the intended purpose. With the Giraud you are buying speed, lots of speed.

The Possum Hollow trimmer is similar in function to the Giraud but is much less expensive. It is not as fast as the Giraud.

I agree, I bought a Wilson trimmer to trim my CHeetah cases as Wilson uses a caliber specific case holder system, which is superior to all other trimmers. Also, I like the inside neck reamer system you can upgrade to. The entire trimmer is so well made, it's simple and you can't beat the precision.

I also have the Wilson Trimmer and when you want precision, that's the one to go with. I also hve the Giraud, and for Highpower, that's the one to use. It has saved me so much work that it's unbelieveable. It used to be that I had to live next to the trimmer to get enough brass done for highpower. I started out with the simple Lee Trimmer System and I've discontinued use of it because the Wilson will allow me to trim .17 Cal Cases that can't be done by the Lee. I find the Wilson pretty simple to use and you can get pretty fast with it if you get your movements down to a routine. The Giraud is what you need for volume.

ONly downside to the GIruad is that you quickly realize you dont have enough brass as you can size it all really fast!

Very true. I have enough brass prepped ahead for another season and a half at current shooting levels.

I have the Dillon and it seems pretty quick and I get accurate cases.
