    Another Sling

I bought this sling sight unseen with right to return. It was advertised as USGI. I'd like to get an expert opinion before I have to eat it.

    Thanks,
    Denny

I'm no expert, but it is without a doubt legit.

Thanks guy's. I got it on Gun Broker. The seller didn't post any pictures and I was the only bidder.

    Regards,
    Denny

    Ole Denny........the sling robber.
I haven't forgot you pinching that one away from me a year or so back.
Enjoy your new one, it's a nice looking early one.

    Cheers
    Charlie

Thanks Charlie. That was my first GI sling and it was truly blind luck that I slid in the winning bid.
I'm trying to stay one sling ahead for my Carbine count. I used my last spare on an Austrian Inland.
The crimps on the tip curves of this one seem smaller than my others. Is that what identifies it as an early one?

    Regards,
    Denny

I was talking about the Khaki.... making it a type 1. Notice the keeper is flat which is a bit later than the earliest ones which were rounded.
See any marking on the middle bar of the keeper?
The C tips look just fine, many had a little different crimp to them.
    Nice grab...How Much?
About your first sling......I'm happy you won it. You know that...just had to bust your chops a little.

I know Charlie. You've given me a lot of very good help since then.
$50+$6 Shipping. No markings on the keeper.

    Best Regards

Actuall flat versus round slide was not a time period difference. The slides were produced by different companies and some sling makers used more than one hardware producer.
