    Marked Slings

After looking through a few boxes I found some other marked slings. The corrosion doesn't look as bad holding them. But then again my eyes are not near as good as a camera lens.
Forgot I had the MRT 1953 D clip slings.
I say all are legit, comments?

    Jim

Some of the markings are hard to read because your picture is so small. To add more information:

Back in the 1990's when US GI slings were around in good quantities, several dealers took unmarked slings and added markings. You can see some of these false markings on that "Sling" website.

Dealers would increase the value of their slings by adding markings that never existed, and real markings.

    Stamps

    Hi Bill,

I was hoping that wasn't the case here.

Jim emailed me some hi resolution photos so I could zoom way down to check them and they're good.

I'm not familiar with; or not sure of some of the ink stamps though. Can you make these out? If not I'll send the 2MB file to your email.

    Thanks,
    ~ Harlan

I always look at the snaps and studs also. They are usually even more crude than the tips. That is another way to spot fakes.
