    Repaired Type II Underwood Stock

    I think I saved this one !
When I got it..it had 50 year old staples and nails holding the broken wood on the right rear of the recoil plate area and the under side of the forearm together. It had cracked in two, traveling forward under the forearm. I used a medium setting clear 2 part epoxy. Makes it stronger where glued than just the wood itself is. About a 1 inch chip was missing at the Hi wood area.....got lucky and found the chip in the shipping box. Marked PU in the slingwell but really no sign of the cartouche. Figured since it was a Hi wood it was worth saving. I don't have any before pics...but trust me, it looks a whole lot better. I don't need it and came real close to using this one for 'parts wood'. I'd be ashamed to tell you how long this one took.

    Regards
