    Bolt number/headspace length list

    In the past there had been a list posted of bolt revisions in regards to approximate length to resolve headspace issues. Can someone repost that list please? I have a rifle that barely passes the field gauge and would prefer to sell the bolt for a longer one.

    GENERALLY speaking, the SA-2 and the post war bolts with no dash numbers were the longest. In both cases, some were longer than others. The problem is that without looking at your rifle and the replacement bolt, there really is no way to know which might work better. I have an idea, though, and will PM you about it.

    This is a copy of the list. I think Gus wrote it? Stu

    The shortest bolts tend to be the WRA's and then the SA-12's, though some very few examples of both are up to medium length.
    Maybe this will help.
    In order of length,shortest to longest;
    -12SA
    -14
    -17
    -19
    -2
    65-series

    Of course, these are based on averages.

    Thanks for the list Stumedic. That's what I was looking for. Mr fisher is helping with this project, it couldn't be in better hands.
