    At one time several manufacturers produced a commercial sling patterned after the Model 1907. I think you have one of those slings.

    Brauer Bros 1907 type sling

    I did a little Internet research and found out that Brauer Bros Mfg Co of St. Louis did manufacture numerous leather and web products for the government from before WWI through at least WWII.
