    Which sling would be correct...?

    For a 1942 Savage # 4 mk 1?

Savage blued tabs? Green Canvas? Brown canvas? Brass tabs?

The correct sling would be a Savage marked sling, these are Kharki, with blackened metal fittings. The slings are 43 inches long and have 'S' and a date.

ANY web sling that was Britishicon issue would be correct. Savage made rifles and furnished slings. These were supplied as separate items and were issued separately and not together. Matching a Savage sling with a Savage rifle is just a collector thing.
