    harvested from the web ...

Found on drunkcyclist.com ... looks like a white guy, a major/lt. col in desert camo,a little graffiti in the background. Iraq? Is this one of Saddam's toys?

Air Force major. The lobby of the Defense Intelligence Agency displays an identical gold plated AK-47 (maybe the same one) and a Russianicon sniper rifle, also gold plated, that belonged to either Saddam or his sons.

We salvaged these from the locals in Al Hillah, or Biblical Babylon, in 2003. Everyone and his brother wanted a pic taken holding one of them. About 19 AK's and 11 SDV's. All gold plated.Turned them over the 1st MEF in May of 2003. The palace was one of Ouday's haunts. Groucho

Sorry for the double post, but correction of rifles. SVD's. Not SDV's

    Groucho,

thanks for that. Maybe in 100 years people will be wondering what was the story behind that gun. If they can get to your post, they'll know. It's called "primary source" information.
