Looks like he's getting a little better at applying the cartouches. This latest one actually looks like it has a little age on it.. But I've never seen them applied that crooked. IMHO

    Good detective work Charlie!
I would not buy anything from this guy.

It's amazing what these crooks will try.
I like the way the "original" acceptance stamps remain so well preserved, but the post war rebuild stamp on the same stock stamped years later is well worn.
I guess the GI's must have been proud of the CC and took good care of them!

    One rebuild stamp....stamped over another.
    Buyers beware.

Funny how the two rebuild stamps are faint but the WRA GHD is crisp, clean and new...Caviat Emptor...

You know what strikes me??? On the first one at least, deep in the sling and the oiler cut, is unstained wood... No way this would be original GI....
Seems like an indication of heavily reworked lumber... If it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't!!

I was hoping someone would notice the I cut oiler. Does that cut look to be 60 years old?

I've been trying to watch these new cut stocks and follow who is buying them.
Look closely......big difference between old growth walnut and todays walnut. Much of the walnut we see around now is coming from out of country and may be a sub species.

Charlie, I've seen those new I cut stocks on GB, but I thought they were all low wood. Is someone now selling new I cut highwood unmarked stocks? That wood be scary.....Frank
