    Although that photo is photoshopped, they do actually exist. They are called the "obrez" and were used in the Russianicon civil war.

    First time I fired a Super 14 (w/old style wooden grip) Contender in 35 Rem, I thought- NO MORE!


    Pachmeyer grips and Mag-Na-Porting made it OK.

    I don't think that firing the above Mosin would be very pleasant, but at least the cocking piece is large and rounded.
