i have 1414XXX has a barrel date of 2-43, iwas told it was probably shipped from the factory around april 43 , but it came from my grandfather who worked for underwood, which would make the crate it left the factory look like a lunch box lol

thats too bad, i had many relatives work for the war machine here in philadelphia , one great uncle worked at baldwin locomotive and built sherman tanks. another uncle who passed away last year was part of a project in the philly navy yard , he and his cohorts were the first to create a nuclear reaction,which was transfered to the arizona desert and was dubbed the manhatten project
