    9-49 or 9-43?

    M1icon Garand Barrel Date 9-43 T.E. 2 M.E. 1 : Barrels at GunBroker.com

Link above does not appear as I copy it for some strange computer security reason, but it is on GB if the link does not work.

    New barrel listed on GB.
Chromed gas port area. Marketed as a 9-43.
Sure looks like it could be a 9-49.
    Any opinions?

    Redleg,

Heat lot and drawing number put it right on 9-43. A 1949 barrel would have a much higher heat lot and drawing number.

Pad was flash chromed in the rebuild efforts after WWII, so that is a correct armory update of a 43 barrel.
