Helping me appriciate my Carbine even more...

While going through my Uncles old house the other day my father came across a couple of his old military badges. He was an Air Corps engineer during World War II and was stationed in Franceicon for sometime. In any case, one of the badges was a Marksmanship Qualification badge in the 'Expert' ranking and had two bars underneath it: one being 'Hand Grenade' and the other 'Carbine'! Being an engineer it makes sense he would have been issued a Carbine.

I thought that was just too cool considering my recent Carbine purchase. I tried to get a good picture but that is pretty impossible with a cell phone, haha! Anyway just thought I'd share this interesting piece of history with you guys!
