I beleieve there is a new law about marking imports. They are to be electopencil marked on the receivers. No more barrel stamps. I saw this done on a Russianicon Nagant. basically it kills the value of the gun as a collector piece..

I have a m1 from SOG and it is marked on the bottom of the barrel (muzzle end). I have not found any other import marks. It does have a scrubbed area on the side of the receiver so I don't know what was there.
