M84 scope?
I am looking at a M84 scope the data plate has no serial number and the plate is a blue color not black. Is this a legit USGI? or arepro? or a put together from parts?

Don't know, but repros have been on the market for about six months. Made in Taiwan, I think?

New M84 scopes have been on Wayne Machine Inc's (Taiwan) product list for over five years.

Its a Repro. All USGI M-84's have a black nameplate with a serial number... Look here, looks like it has no serial number and a blued type of plate. Call them and ask...
M84 Sniper Scope, M1D

Yes, but repro data plates are available. Scope could be legit with a repro data plate.

Stu, If you look at the M-84 he is looking at on EBay, the seller is VERY careful to only advertise the carry case as USGI...

Well, just to add some information ------ about 15 years ago Sarco bought a bunch of demilled M84's & parts, including ID plates with & without a SN. They contracted with a scope tech to break them down & assemble complete scopes. So, technically, these can be called "USGI", but are really "parts" scopes.
Probably not the scope you are describing, but...
