    S.G Stock. Charlie ?

You remember a couple of years back, I asked you about a stock I had with 47A in the slingwell. You told me you thought it was S.G. Looks like you were right. Did you ever learn any more about it? Could that be a bomb under the 47A? I got sent these pics, can't find any mention of this in Warbaby. Has anybody else got anything similar? I'm a bit confused about this subject. Thanks.

    Hi Mikey,
Marty had mentioned to me about the numbers usually found in the RSG slingwells as being stocks used by S.G.- Saginaw, Mi Plant.
Since then I have seen quite a few more with 2 to 3 different placements of the RSG and numbers. Also different size RSG stamped letters.
Your's looks like the Larger letters.
Haven't seen a Ordnance Bomb in the mix yet, that I can remember.

    Cheers,
    Charlie-painter777

    Mikey,
It looks to be the large RSG letters under the 47A to me.
I can't see a bomb even when I blow the picture up.

    Thumbs up

You could have a Trimble Nursery to SG subcontract stock. The "Trimble TN" marking often found in the slingwell is small and often faintly stamped but it looks like there's a faint ordnance bomb in front of the "S" on yours although your "SG" fonts seem to be larger than those on mine.

You are right onto it Charlie ! I found my one, I knew it was out in the chicken shed somewhere! This is #3,366,404. Now this is connected to what USGI said about "antlers" on my "backwards Z thread". Will do my best to connect the two threads with pics. Mike.

When you think about all the use, wear and tear and age of these stocks it's amazing these small stamps survive. Especially when they're stamped across the open end grain.

    Thanks To All for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Charlie-painter777
