Just curious about this barrel band

Yes, I know who's selling it. Was curious, is it or isn't it legit?

It's a good copy. Even if it was real I wouldn't buy it from him, just on principle. Before I found some of these forums I bought some of his stuff. All of it later turned out to be repro. It's now on my Auto Ordnance carbine because I couldn't bring myself to throw away $200+ in parts. Live and learn. Expensive lessons though.

I was wondering about the 3 welds. Hadn't seen those on a repro band. Of course I've been out of the loop a couple of years.

I just checked his current auctions and all of the small parts, rear flip sights and type 1 barrel bands are all fake. Some are better then others but fakes non the less.

    LE,
You haven't been gone that long....
No where does he state these are original, authentic WWII USGI.

Read over the grief a newer member is having with him.
The item he bought isn't the one he received....
Real or Repro? - Flip sight - Military Surplus Collectors Forums

Here's an example of a Type I band that he sold. Buyer left feedback. Same TYPE item is listed again with no mention of using file photos, just the same GENERIC pictures. Look back thru his feedback and current items. You'll find countless items with the same pictures being used time and again.
    Crooked is just plain crooked.

    SOLD......

I just noticed that, no claim that they are real. Just leaves the impression that they are. Pretty sly. They all look the same and at the same price
