    1911A1 restoration

IthacaII2010-June-22004.jpg picture by viettom - Photobucket

    Greetings from Texas!

Looking for someone who could restore and refinish a 1911A1 pistol.

Years ago I purchased a 1911A1, worn almost silver, but still a good shooter.

I thought it was an Ithaca, until I discovered the Ithaca slide, was mated with a Colt frame.

A few days ago, I purchased another 1911A1 on Gunbroker.

The second pistol consists of a Colt slide, and Ithaca frame, allowing me two mated 1911A1 pistols.

Unfortunately a previous owner, polished of the parkerized finishes, and reblued the gun, making my paired pistols a bit of an eyesore.

Anyone know of someone who can rework these two pistols, and make them look like they should with the proper parts and finish?

    Thanks,

    Viettom

If you want to spend LOTS of money and wait a long time, but have superb results, there's Doug Turnbull restorations.

Or, simply PM "chuckindenver", as he's a member! Haven't seen his work myself, but nobody on these forums seems to be complaining about his work at all- which is pretty darn unusual for the internet...

(To private message go to the top center left (or a little lower- far left) of this page and click on "User CP". Once there, on the left under Controll panel it'll read (in black) Private Messages- in there should be "send new" or close to it. Ought to be easy, I hope)
