Differences between P14 and Model 1917

This question has probably been answered many times, but doing a search I turned up empty. My question is: What are the differences between a P-14 and 1917? I know that obviously the receiver, barrel and bolt, and probably the rear sight. I know that stocks were different also, but interchangeable. Reason I'm asking is that I have a P-14 and would like to drop in a 1917 barrelled receiver. Any problems that I am not aware of?

    Thanks
    daveboy

Well you pretty much covered all the different parts except the magazine box, you would have to change that out too.

I suggest that you get Charles R. Stratton book, "The Pattern 1914 and The U. S. Model 1917 Rifles"
    ISBN1 882391 29 2
    North Cape Publications.
There are a number of things that can be changed, but donot fit! For example the stocks will fit but the trigger gaurd assembly is not a fit.
So I can't spell, so what!!!
