    Carbine sub contractor info

I have searched for this info to do a little research, but can't come up with anything.
Does anyone have the actual physical address of Jasper-Backburn in St.Louis and Litchfield Precision Products. I live just a couple miles south of Litchfield and work in St. Louis. I was just wondering if the old buildings were still standing. I like to check these things out when I am in the area of a WWII ordnace supplier. The old St. Louis Ord Plant was torn down just a few years ago. We still have quite a few old plants still standing here in the St Louis area though.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Hi Dave I know nothing about the buildings you are asking about. I have a question about M1icon carbine parts you might be able to help me with. I live in Springfield IL. I am looking for springfield Armory marked parts or any one in your area that might have
    m1 carbne parts.

    Thanks Jim

Big city main libraries often have city directories going back more than a century. Might have phone books that old too. Sanborn fire insurance maps go back over a hundred years too. Remember, development can result in street numbers changing over time (that's why the Sanborn maps might work best, though they were about finished by 1940).

I grew up in St. Louis and still live there, however was not here during WW2. But I do not remember a Jasper-Backburn Company at all. There was a Blackburn publishing Company here some years ago but I think they are gone as well.

i like to do the same thing, but not just ordanance plants. anything to do with WW2. it all started when i was a kid. i currently live less than one mile from the Frankford Arsenal, which was closed almost 20 years ago. but it still has all of the original buildings intact
