For what it's worth, I always include (1) mag with a carbine. Generally have gotten one with the ones I've bought as well.

I would just be mindful of WHERE you are shipping it to. Standard M-1 carbine magazines are illegal
in some states and localities.

No 15 round mags to CA, and MA for sure.
I have seen carbine's sold with and without a mag. If not listed in you selling add or shown in a picture, it would just be a bonus to the buyer. If you choose to send one it doesn't have to be a mint mag. Or matching to the maker as they never went out like that anyway. If a $15 used mag could be the deal breaker, I would send one.
If a gun is listed and the picture doesn't show a sling, do you put one on it?

Browsing through Gunbroker I see lots without magazines. Many people don't want to break laws they don't know about (like no 15 rounders in Cook Co. IL) so they don't include mags. If no magazine shown or mentioned, you are not obligated. I personally would include a mag after inquiring on local laws, just because that is the kind of seller I am.

If you sent a 15 rd into California
Your customer would instantly be a felon. The state is so bad that they attend gunshows in Nevada, see certain people buying these items and follow them back into the state to make a felony arrest. I find poor guys out at the range with nice carbines and no magazines to use in them, if I gave one to the guy, I'm a felon too.

So the California laws are good for me! We had the same laws but they canceled it now we are allowed to use the 15 rds mags. I have 5round mags too!

As I understand it, It is not illegal to possess a 15 round magazine in California, but it is illegal to buy or sell one, or give one to some one else.

mar , could you explain a little bit more ? when i bought my " assault " rifle , ( although it won't fire on full auto ! ) , before the 2000 californica ban , I had to carry my RECEIPT for my hi - caps with me at the range to show I bought them with the rifle , and I admit , I registered it , but have never had any problem with that , I used to ALWAYS carry my registrationletter with my rifle till range masters just suddenly quit asking ........ but they still check my mags every once in a while ......... thanks for your reply ... derf
