Inland barrel showing band resting spot during park

This looks like a good example of where the band set while the barrel was grit blasted and parked.
BTW, Covered very well in the CC Newsletters.

Didn't I just pay $125 for my barrelled receiver from CMPicon?

The CMPicon B/R aren't like that. Sam-T-Bob will have that one put together soon. That was a good buy.....Frank

Yes, a fairly clear mark, but I have seen some on the Canadianicon barrels where that bare spot was really bare - in the white, and also under the front sight. This barrel has simply had a lot more exposure to use, weather and maintenance, so the 'bare spot' has darkened.
