    Trip to CMP North

Just got back from Camp Perry with 2 S'G' barreled receivers. When I got there they had about 30, 29 were S'G' and one IBM. Most had original barrels, my 2 were less than .002.
I have a almost correct S'G' so these will be mixmaster shooters. I checked my spare parts
box last night and had enough to build 2 guns so I figured $125 for a Carbine wasn't bad.
They started out last week with about 150, almost all were S'G', strange how things fall from CMPicon?

I had a similar experience. I was there the first day they sold the barreled receivers. I scored a couple of S'G''s that had muzzle wear of less than 1.5 and an Underwood that was just slightly less than 1.0. The neat thing about the Underwood is that it did not have adjustable stake marks on the dovetail, only the original chisel marks. Additionally it did not have a type III band shadow so I suspect it was broken down from a early rifle. The barreled receivers I saw were all in really nice condition, no holes or damage, and most seened to have original barrels. My S'G''s all have 1943 dated Underwood barrels expect one with a undated Saginaw barrel. The Underwood is a 6.1 million with its original 3-44 barrel. Not sure why such nice rifles were broken down like this but I am sure glad I stopped by the store. Great value for $125 as I have most all of the parts to complete the 4 of them that I got.
