off topic - just returned from Barns and Noble - checking out ......the Military history section
picked a few books sat down and started to flip a few pages
Old fellow started to chat me up
turns out he flew 100 missions in the CBI in P40's
50 missions in P51D and one in a P38
He remembers a Linbaugh in his squadron
Also was a WW2 CBI MIS-x trained code writer (only one in his squadron)
also flew close ground support in Korea
87 year old and still sharp - better than any book I could have purchased
