hi;
i have savage no.4mk.1 that`s in fabulous shape. everything matching even the serial #
on the forend. now, she has a screw through the forend like the infamous "ishy screw"
but there is NOT an Indian or Pakistani marking of any kind to be found anywhere on
the rifle. the stock is proud and a bit bulky and i have been told that some like this were
used for grenade launching, hence the reinforcing "ishy type" screw. in fact, maybe
the Britishdid this and the rifle never passed through India/Pakistan. can anyone tell me
if the British actually experimented with tis technique or if indeed the rifle at some point
did see service in India/Pakistan.
beautiful balance though and a great shooter..
help please
