The No5 is a lovely looking gun , but I've read about so many problems such as nasty recoil , wandering zero , melting butt pads , splitting forends (maybe more ?) . Yet before WWI a lot of units had .303 carbines of similar weight , metal butt plates , no flash hiders nor apparent accuracy problems !
Has anyone done a comparison test between the first and last .303 carbines ?Information
