    Black powder Christmas

My wife asked me what I would like for Christmas. I told her I would like a black powder cannon to shoot golf balls or cans. We do not need to go into what she said!

Any forum members here familiar with those type on cannons? I did some Google research but I would like to hear from people who did some hands on usage. Thanks!

    AF,

you can make a pretty damn good cannon out of seamless tubing, long as it has .5" wall or so. My brother and tom Barry had one, they fired it off when my daughter was born - I delivered her in our house in Troy ID, 36 years ago now. they were out in the yard 'cause I was the only man the women would let into the couche deliverance'

they were itching for an occasion to fire a salute.

I know Dixie Gun Works sells some. They get kind of pricey as they get bigger. You might try looking at civil war skirmish organization/news letter for more ideas on where to find them.
I went to a rendevous once that had a cannon shoot on the last day. There were small morters that one man could handle up to ones that were 2/3 scale. They were all neet.

Ask for two anvils. So's you can "ring" them! Big boom and it's generally easy to find the "projectile" for another go!
