Exceptional rifle.
My DCM Garand
is a SA s/n 3,839,288. My receiver is June '45 as I recall, and like yours still has a 1945 barrel.
Came with a lock bar sight but the later stamped trigger group. I eventually traded for an earlier milled unit.
The wood (all walnut) on mine, while not beat up is very dark. The catrouches are the same as yours. Unfortunately, the receiver fits loosely in the stock so it's not a tack driver.
Your metal finish looks near new. Mine shows quite a bit of use after production or last overhaul.

Very nice rifle. I have been looking for an original 3.8 Rifle for a while. NMC, I believe a stamped trigger guard would be original to your rifle. I hope you still have it so you can switch it back...
