?????????,i saw one at a gun show couple years back in .41 magnum. Cycled fine w/dummy ammo. About 20 years ago a guy in Tennesee or Kentucky, not sure which, was converting them to .45 Win Mag by boring/chambering the GI barrel, used unmodified GI 15 rd. mags. Sounds like a neat conversion. No idea on what was in store for the one you mention.

The guy who was offering to convert carbines name I think was something like LaFrance? He only had ads out for about a year and I think I remember reading there were problems with his conversions in .45 Mag. I don't think any company has made a real successful conversion using the carbine. The only other ones I know of was the 9mm and the 5.7 Spitfire offered by Johnson and the .22/30 offered by Plainfield.

"Lemag" conversions. Inspired by Col Jeff Cooper's Thumper concept. Only saw one a long time ago. It had a Choate folding stock. Made me too nervous to even think about shooting it.

That's it Lemag. I hate to think of how much meat was taken out of the barrel to chamber that .45 Mag. round.

Would be nice to have a carbine chambered for the 357 case. Would make for some easy & cheap reloading. Frank, while you're sitting around down there in sunny AL, why don't you buy that bolt and bore out one of your carbines? Start up a new business venture..........heh, heh.
