How to restore this mess. Spandau Mauser

Today I bought this at a pawn shop. As far as I can tell it is all matching and other that it being nickel plated I think it has some potential.

My question is how do I get rid of the current finish. ?? Bead blasting?, are there any solvents that can be used?? and once the old finish is off what will the course of action be to refurbish this rifle. Thanks.
