    In wrap #4 1955

Just a heads up to any who might want to see a mummy wrap Enfield. It's on gunbroker and I have NO affiliation whatsoever with the auction or seller.

I looked it up and that is one heck of a good price on it too. Now I'm rethinking my M1917 purchase earlier this month. Oh well, that's the way it goes.

Probably wont be there there very long. The buy now price is decent and will bet someone snaps it up at that price. If bids start on it and the buy now offer goes away it will surely go for more than the buy now price.

I fully expect someone will hit Buy Now on that puppy. Especially considering that these have been going for north of $1,000 lately in some cases. I think the price this one is at is plenty high, but still somewhat reasonable.

I had originally posted a thread in June 2010 inquiring if there were Irish Contract rifles in wrap because all I have ever seen on auctions were all PF 55's. I was not willing to pay up to 1000.00 for a wrapped PF 55 No 4 Mk 2. I have been looking for a wrapped Irish Contract rifle since. In the meantime, I have picked up 2 unwrapped and unissued Irish Contract rifles.

Well now I have an Irish in wrap. I paid the Buy it Now price for this rifle. Thanks for the heads up to me2. And yes, this is a very, very good price.

I guess it pays to persevere.

Very nice rifle at a very good price. I thought about it, but I just picked up two '55 No4 Mk2 UF rifles over the weekend (did not need them, but could not pass on the price). The ironic thing is that Paul, the seller, is usually at the show I was at, but he was not set up this past weekend. He must have just come across this rifle, because a month ago all he had was several Enfield sporters.

I know I am opening Pandora's Box with this question, but I'm sure others are wondering the same thing, is it going to be a shooter or left in the wrap?

This Irish will be left in the wrap. I already have my shooters.

Glad to hear it. My Enfield addiction began with a wrapped 1955 Faz. I suppose unwrapping it and shooting it led to my further interest, but i still wish it was still wrapped up.
