    M1 Carbines at Big 5

Big 5 Sporting Goods in the Los Angeles area has "Authentic US Military, Genuine War Surplus, Issued to Troops in WWII and the Korean War" M1icon Carbines for sale at $699.99 (regularly $999.99). Are these worth looking at?

The ones I have seen in northern Calif have been pretty rough. As any, check it out for condition, muzzel wear, etc.

    Wood Rough, Metal Average...

I checked my local Big 5 this morning. They had an Underwood on display that had the Israeli style serial numbers stamped on the buttstock and some other Hebrew writing as well. The handguard was in poor condition, four rivets. The metal was reparked but pretty even overall with wear on some of the edges. The bore was clean and shiney, the muzzle unmarred. The salesman said they had two Inlands in the back but I didn't look at 'em....

They are not worth the sale price. As Jim said, pretty rough!

Anyone know where this batch came from? More Israeli? Maybe the mythical Koreans waiting for import.
