Yes, these would be parts guns... shooters? That depends on many factors including barrel. I did think about geting one, to "restore" as time went on, and I stumbled across parts.... then the more I thought about it, the idea to "restore" didn't make much sense. I think you can still get some really nice shooters out there... with real wood for just a little more. Also, I bet that the more desirable guns were sold elsewhere, and these are "left overs".... just my honest opinion.
If you had a way to inspect a rifle, before you bought it... I would feel a lot more comfortable. Buying such a rifle would certainly scare me, if I couldn't inspect first... due to the money involved.

If these are the rifles that Gibbs puts out, which it sounds like, they are reactivated drill rifles. I agree with midmichigun though, you could get a pretty nice near original 03a3 for around $600 or so. Shoot, I just bought mine for $640 about a month ago and its almost 100% R marked and looks to be a safe queen.

The Army, long ago, made plastic stocks for 1903s & A3s. If these stocks are just painted USGI plastic stocks, it's a bad deal. If they are modern made glass filled composite stocks, that's OK.

These poeple ain't doing nothing but trolling for suckers, read the add again. The only part of these rifles that stands a chance of being original is the receiver. Says in the add the barrels are repros, stock and other small parts probabvly are too. Don't waste your money.

The bitterness of poor quality lingers in the mouth long after the sweetness of a good price fades away.

Plastic stock? US Navy JrRotc issue? Drill use only, I've been told. No idea how they shoot or how they hold up in firing. For that kind of money, I'd be haunting the big gunshows. There is always some guy walking around with a 03-A3 on his shoulder, for sale. The economy has been tough (thanks, Obama) and lots of guys selling "keepers" just to make the rent this month.
