M1 Carbine sling use
This maybe a basic question but when I found the video on how to use the garand sling it worked far better thab the way I have used slings in the past. So......is there a video(prefer the old war training type videos) that shows the proper use of the M1
carbine sling or do I sling it ?

The 90 Infantry Division Preservation Group site has an article on the M1
carbine manuel of arms. It shows the use of the sling. Interesting article.

great web site, I see some late nights reading around there. With a quick look I did not see anything about the slings for actually shooting ?

The sling was only used to carry or do the simple manual of arms. The carbine wasn't used as a marksman's rifle or in competition, so they didn't develop accessories for it like the garand and m1903.

Try looking for 'Hasty Sling' which it the Carbine sling configuration you are allowed to use in CMP
Carbine matches when not standing. It works relatively well but the Carbine sling was certainly not developed for marksmanship in the same way the Garand
sling was. Of course the original Garand sling was the leather 2-piece (not counting keepers) sling developed for the 1903 I believe.
