hey guys,
i have a Type 99 Long Rifle and i only today took the bolt apart (never had the ammo, never felt the need to do it). anyway, i discovered that the firing pin tip appears to have been neatly ground off. it's not a break, it's a smooth grinding that removed it.
i had heard somewhere that when some rifles were brought back the GI or sailor was told to disable it somehow. could this be a reason for it or do i have to punch a hole in the wall?
here are a couple pics. i put it by one of my 98ks firing pins to show how much is missing.

like i said, it's clearly not broken but ground away or something
